Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Last updated 30 May 2026 · Operated by Slick Enterprises LLP (getcast.now)

This policy is provided for general information only and does not constitute legal advice. Please consult a qualified professional regarding your obligations under applicable privacy law.

1. Who we are

Slick Enterprises LLP ("we", "us") operates getcast.now (the "Service"). For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and similar laws, we act as a data fiduciary with respect to personal data we collect through the Service, except where filmmakers process applicant data for their own casting purposes (see Section 6).

2. What we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:

  • Account data — name, email, phone (if provided), password (stored by our auth provider, not in plain text), user type (e.g. actor or director), and profile photo
  • Talent profile data — bio, physical attributes you choose to provide, skills, languages, social links, resume, photos, and showreel or media uploads
  • Casting and submission data — applications to roles, materials attached to applications, notes, shortlist status, and consent records for private fields
  • Filmmaker data — production or company information, casting project details, and reviewer access where enabled
  • Waitlist and communications — email, name, company or project name, and messages you send when requesting access or contacting us
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, and usage data when you use analytics cookies (only if you consent — see our Cookie Policy)

3. How we use your data

We use personal data to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate you and secure your account
  • Enable casting applications, reviews, and filmmaker workflows
  • Process waitlist and invite requests
  • Respond to support requests and enforce our Terms
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse
  • Analyse aggregated usage trends (only with your cookie consent for analytics tools)

4. Legal bases

We process data where necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), where required by law, and where we have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights (such as security and product improvement). Where consent is required — for example, optional analytics cookies or sharing certain private fields with filmmakers — we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw as described below.

5. Sharing with filmmakers and other users

When you apply to a casting call, filmmakers and authorised reviewers on that project may see your submission and profile information needed to evaluate your application. Sensitive fields such as phone number or email are shared only if you explicitly consent per field at the time of application (or when you update consent). You control profile visibility settings where the Service provides them.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing without your permission.

6. Filmmakers as data users

Filmmakers who receive applicant data through the Service are responsible for using that data only for legitimate casting-related purposes, keeping it secure, and complying with applicable privacy laws. If you are a filmmaker, you should provide your own privacy notice to applicants where required.

7. Service providers

We use trusted processors to run the Service, including:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (hosting may be outside India depending on project configuration)
  • Vercel — website hosting and, if you consent to analytics cookies, privacy-oriented usage analytics
  • Cloudinary — image and media hosting when you upload photos or other media

These providers process data on our instructions and under contractual safeguards. We may add or change providers; we will update this policy when material changes occur.

8. Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal requirements. You may request deletion of your account subject to exceptions (e.g. records we must keep for legal compliance or legitimate ongoing casting disputes).

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you use the Service at your own risk and should use a strong, unique password.

10. Your rights

Depending on applicable law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in India), you may have the right to access, correct, erase, or port your data, withdraw consent, nominate a person to exercise rights on your behalf in certain circumstances, and lodge a complaint with the relevant authority.

To exercise your rights, contact us at legal@getcast.now. We will respond within reasonable timeframes required by law.

11. Children

The Service is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected a child's data, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

12. International transfers

Your data may be processed in India and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where transfers occur, we take steps consistent with applicable law to ensure appropriate safeguards.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
